Why is the keypad arrangement different for
a telephone and a computer keypad?
The computer keypad is the one that is
upside down.
After all, the telephone came first. :D
Besides, the number pad on a keyboard came
about in the 80's, whereas telephones with key pads have been around since the
50's or so.
